Chris Hewitson is based in the Corbières region of southern France. He studied photography in Barcelona at the Grisart Escuela Internacional de Fotografia and at the Institut d’Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya. During those studies, 2017 – 2021, Chris worked on projects that examined overlooked or obscure aspects of life in rural France and urban Barcelona.
Previously, Chris managed projects in the English Education system to improve the learning experiences of young people and adults in the context of the Equalities legislation. He maintains an interest in this field of work in his photography.
Chris is researching a PhD at Falmouth University, in which he is using post-human photography to explore how non-human animals are managing to live in the Anthropocene.
